This course has been designed using the MYP curriculum framework and will model MYP pedagogy. Through inquiry, action and reflection, participants will explore the following ‘statement of inquiry’:

Inquisitive and collaborative learners build relationships within local and global communities to develop a shared culture that nurtures and values the contribution of each individual.

As members of a learning community, participants will be introduced to the culture of MYP pedagogy which has 'learning how to learn' at its heart. MYP's collaborative approach to teaching through inquiry, developing conceptual understanding in a Global Context, and informed by assessment will be made explicit in the creation and review of MYP units. Approaches to learning skills will be identified and their significance for 'learning how to learn', both individually and collaboratively, will be highlighted throughout the course. As part of the process, participants will be encouraged to keep their reflective learning journal. The training will conclude with participants setting personal goals to enable them to transfer their new knowledge and skills to create their own MYP classroom and become collaborative members of the MYP teaching and learning community in their school.
